A fairytale castle
The Royal Palace of Olite is one of the most spectacular Gothic castles in Europe. Declared a National Monument, it was the seat of the Court of the Kingdom of Navarra in the 15th century under the reign of Charles III the Noble. Its towers, galleries, hanging gardens and decorated chambers make it an absolutely essential visit.
The medieval town of Olite surrounding the palace is equally charming: cobbled streets, the Church of Santa MarÃa la Real with its Gothic portal, the medieval galleries and a gastronomic offering centred on D.O. Navarra wine. The Wine and Vine Museum completes a perfect day out.
